1. Hose them down
If you can’t remove the covers from your outdoor seat cushions, you should start by using a vacuum cleaner or brush to get rid of any loose dirt, paying special attention to seams and crevices. Next, spray them with a suitable cleaning solution and then use a hose to wash them down.
2. Remove any stains
If your outdoor cushions have some more problematic stains, you could try spraying them with a vinegar and water solution. Which is simple to put together at home. Leave this to sit for 20 minutes and then use a brush to scrub any stained areas before rinsing the solution away. If this doesn’t work, you will need to try stronger, more specific cleaning products, especially for things such as grass stains. If you can remove the cushion covers, check the label and see if you can machine or hand wash them.
3. Put them in storage
Once the summer season comes to an end and you’re not spending nearly as much time outdoors, you might want to put your outdoor bench cushions into storage, as this will help protect them from the elements. It’s a good idea to wash them before packing them away for the winter too, as this will help to keep them fresh and means they’re good to use when summer rolls around again.
